Privacy Policy for WannaSport

WannaSport ApS (CVR 34703531) is the data controller for the processing of personal data collected through our platforms (app and websites). We treat your information with respect and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR).

1. What information do we process?

We process the following information when you use WannaSport:

  • Name and email address (when creating a user profile and booking)
  • Booking history and related activity data
  • Payment information (handled by certified payment providers – we do not store card details)
  • Display name, which the user can freely set and edit in their profile. This name is used in some cases as a reference in the booking systems of our partners and typically consists of first name + initial of surname.
  • Support requests and other communication
  • Approximate location, derived from your IP address (city/area level, not precise GPS), used to show you relevant areas and facilities near you
  • Searches you make on the platform (which area and which sport you select), used to improve recommendations and to help connect you with other players

We do not require a phone number to use WannaSport. You may optionally provide one when you sign up, so we can reach you with updates if there is a problem with a booking. We also use your phone number if you apply to be a Play ambassador (see below) or for certain membership integrations. We process your IP address to derive an approximate location (city/area level) and to operate and secure the service; we do not store your precise location.

Play – connecting players

If you choose to create a Play profile to be matched with other players, we also process the information you provide there:

  • Year of birth and gender
  • Whether you describe yourself as an expat or a tourist
  • Sports you play, your level and a free-text description
  • When you are typically available to play
  • Preferred venues and areas
  • Affiliations you add — education/school, workplace, club or neighbourhood — and any membership number
  • A free-text description of the playing partner(s) you are looking for
  • If you apply to become an ambassador: your application, the affiliation and sport it concerns, and your note. We use your phone number and email to contact you about the ambassador role.

You provide this information yourself in order to use the Play feature. We use it to connect you with other players and to run the Play and ambassador programmes. You can deactivate your Play profile or ask us to delete this data at any time.

2. Purpose of processing

We process your data for the following purposes:

  • Completion and administration of your bookings
  • Statistics and operational optimization (in anonymized form when shared with partners)
  • User support and error handling
  • Communication regarding your bookings and account information
  • Personalising your experience, such as showing areas and sports relevant to you
  • Helping connect you with other players through our Play feature

We do not use your data for direct marketing (such as emails or newsletters) unless you have explicitly consented.

We use cookies and third-party tools for statistical and platform improvement purposes. This is only done if you have accepted it via our cookie banner.

Our processing of your approximate location and of your searches, for personalisation and to connect you with other players, is based on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service. You can object to this processing at any time by contacting us at info@wannasport.dk.

3. Use of cookies and third-party services

We use cookies and third-party tools to improve your experience and analyze the use of our platforms. Upon visiting our website, we ask for your consent.

4. Data sharing

  • WannaSport does not generally share personal data with providers (such as clubs or venues).
  • In some bookings, the user’s chosen display name (typically first name + initial of surname) may be shared as a reference in the provider’s booking system. This name is user-defined and editable.
  • Anonymized booking statistics may be shared with partners to improve their service offering.
  • Data is only shared with technical processors (e.g., payment or support systems) under a valid data processing agreement.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Rectify or delete your information
  • Withdraw any consent given
  • Object to certain types of processing

You can contact us at any time at info@wannasport.dk if you wish to exercise your rights. All requests are handled manually.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Data may be stored for up to 5 years in accordance with the Danish Bookkeeping Act.
